About Steel Solutions

A graduate of East Kazakhstan State Technical University in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Sergey began his career as a design engineer at a machine-building plant. He then spent about four years as a process engineer in the machine shop of the Institute of Atomic Energy at Kazakhstan’s National Nuclear Centre in Kurchatov.

After moving to Almaty, he worked for more than eight years at the SVS-Modul steel fabrication plant, progressing from design engineer to project manager. This work built his practical experience in steel frames, modular buildings and special-engineered equipment.

He later became Technical Director of a new light-gauge steel framing plant. Over three years he helped take the facility from an empty construction site to a functioning production line, gaining further experience in LGSF design and calculation, product testing and patent work with KazNIISA.

In 2019, after almost two decades of work with steel structures, Sergey founded Steel Solutions LLP. Structures designed during his career are in service in Kazakhstan and beyond. His chief structural engineer qualification and the company’s Category III design licence underpin its engineering work.

Leonid completed his bachelor’s degree at Satbayev University in Almaty, including a one-year placement at a university in Seoul during his final year. He is continuing his postgraduate studies at Satbayev University.

Leonid has six years of practical experience designing structural steelwork alongside his studies. He leads the company’s 3D/BIM modelling work.
